Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) has organized the Staff Excellence Award to recognize and appreciate the outstanding commitment and achievement of staff at UPSI. Award nominations are open to all UPSI staff according to the defined terms and conditions.

In 2013, the Academic and Quality Development Division (BPAQ) has been entrusted to handle the selection of Teaching Award recipients, Expert Academic Expert Award and Academic Achievement Award in conjunction with the UPSI Staff Excellence Award. Starting in 2014, BPAQ only handles the selection of Teaching Award recipients, and the Expectations of Academic Experts, while the selection process of the Academic Achievement Award recipient has been taken over by the Academic Staff Association (PEKA). Various initiatives have been conducted by PPA to provide exposure and assist award-winning candidates to provide the necessary documents to participate in the awards ceremony.
